The Zymora AquaShield™ is a gravity-fed filtration system. Fill the reservoir from a suitable freshwater source, hang it above your collection container and let gravity move the water through the filter. No electricity, batteries or manual pumping are required.
What does it filter out of the water?
The Zymora AquaShield™ features an advanced 0.1-micron hollow-fiber membrane that removes 99.99% of bacteria, parasites, protozoa and microplastics while reducing sediment from freshwater sources. The multi-stage filtration system delivers clean drinking water without the need for electricity, batteries or chemicals.
What water sources can I use it with?
The AquaShield™ is designed for freshwater sources such as streams, rivers, lakes, ponds and collected rainwater. For the clearest results and longest filter lifespan, use the cleanest available source and avoid heavy mud, saltwater, fuel, chemicals and industrial runoff.
Does it need power, batteries or chemicals?
No. The AquaShield™ operates entirely through gravity. It does not require electricity, batteries, chemical tablets or manual pumping, making it useful for camping, emergencies and power outages.
How long does the filter last?
With proper use and regular maintenance, the AquaShield™ filter is designed to provide up to 1,500 gallons of clean drinking water. Backflushing the filter after use helps maintain optimal water flow and extend its lifespan.
How do I clean and maintain it?
When the water flow begins to slow, backflush the filter with clean water using the included syringe. This clears trapped particles from the membrane. Allow all components to fully air-dry before long-term storage.
How should I store it, and can it freeze?
Store the AquaShield™ clean and dry in your emergency kit, vehicle or backpack. Do not allow the wet hollow-fiber filter to freeze, because expanding ice can damage the internal membrane. Fully dry the filter before storing it in freezing conditions.
